TIFFANY TOWNSEND

NEW YORK — Texas sprinter Tiffany Townsend doubled in the 60 and 200 meters at the National Scholastic Indoor Championships at the Armory.

Townsend, 17, established a new Armory record in the 55 meters (6.78), crossing the 60-meter mark in 7.28 seconds during the semifinals; Townsend won the finals in 7.32 seconds.

Crossing the finish line in 23.34 seconds in the 200-meter finals, Townsend garnered a No. 4 spot on the all-time, U.S. high school girls list.

NEW YORK — California horizontalist KeNyia Richardson established a new indoor national record on Sunday, March 11, during the finals of the high school girls triple jump at the Armory. Richardson jumped 44-feet-6.75.
