MASTON WALLACE
HOUSTON — Friendswood Clear Brook High School senior Maston Wallace dominated the Pole Vault Summit, the Carl Lewis Invitational (above) and the Nike Indoor National, before the start of the outdoor season.
He leads all Texas pole vaulters with an indoors clearance of 17-feet-5 and looks to make an impressive showing this weekend at the Texas Relays in Austin, where, in several short months he will be a University of Texas Longhorn.

KILLEEN — Samantha Hamilton of C.E. Ellison High School hopped, stepped and jumped into the No. 2 position in the state with an outstanding performance at the Roo Relays on Saturday, March 31.

Early morning overcast cleared as the 2006 state finalist, Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympic Games medalist and the defending Texas Relays champion unleashed a personal best distance of 39-feet-11.

TIFFANY TOWNSEND

KILLEEN — Within a 90-minute span, Texas sprinter Tiffany Townsend tripled in the short sprints at the Roo Relays, and set a new school and area record.

Townsend, 17, won the 100 meters in a school-record time (11.30) and tied the Central Texas area record established by former Fairfield High School and ex-University of Texas sprinter Nanceen Perry. Townsend also won the 200 (23.54) and 400 (56.05) .
