ENGLISH GARDNER

NORFOLK — East Coast sprinter English Gardner traveled below the Mason-Dixon line and blazed through six 100- and 200-meter rounds to win two gold medals in the Youth (14-year-old) Girls Division at the Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympic Games on the Norfolk State University campus.
The New Jersey native dropped preliminary times of 12.25 seconds in the 100 meters (w: -1.3) and 24.26 seconds in the 200 meters (w: +1.7); made semis postings of 11.95 (w: 1.8) and 24.31 (+2.3); and concluded the AAU JO Games with finals numbers of 12.19 (w: -0.8) and 24.68 (-1.7) for an impressive double.
