OSAKA, JAPAN — Horizontalist Nelson Evora set a Portuguese national record in uncorking a huge personal best in the triple jump on Monday, August 27, winning the event with a distance of 17.74 meters (58-feet-2½). Jadel Gregorio of Brazil (17.59/57-feet-8½) and Walter Davis of the United States (17.33/56-feeet-10¼), respectively, garnered silver and bronze in the event.
