TIFFANY TOWNSEND

KILLEEN — Within a 90-minute span, Texas sprinter Tiffany Townsend tripled in the short sprints at the Roo Relays, and set a new school and area record.

Townsend, 17, won the 100 meters in a school-record time (11.30) and tied the Central Texas area record established by former Fairfield High School and ex-University of Texas sprinter Nanceen Perry. Townsend also won the 200 (23.54) and 400 (56.05) .
