SAN ANTONIO — L.C. Express Track and Field Club young men's division triple jumper and Hearne, Texas, native Chris Carter is not merely a Carter, he is, as Jay-Z would phrase it, "The Carter," building a sand dynasty one hop, step and jump phase at a time.
One of the few American prep triple jumpers, this year, to break the 51-foot mark, which has been surpassed by Tyron Stewart (Texas), Troy Doris (Illinois), Chrys Jones (Kentucky) and Christian Taylor (Georgia), Carter rebounded from an early summer track season injury to become the dominate force on the Amateur Athletic Union 17- to 18-year-old boys scene.
