SAN ANTONIO — Triple jumper Kia Wansley notched a gold medal in her specialty during the Amateur Athletic Union Region IX Track and Field Championships on Friday, July 13, at Alamo Stadium.
A 40-foot club member, who leaped and bounded ahead of the Texas field events class at the beginning of this outdoor season, Wansley has qualified to participate in the AAU Junior Olympic Games, scheduled to take place on the University of Tennessee campus in Knoxville, July 27 - August 4.
